Bandizip is a free archiver from the Bandisoft company that supports many formats. The program is distributed under the EULA license and allows not only archiving but also compressing and encrypting user’s documents, creating self-extracting archives, splitting images into several volumes, etc.
Data is protected using the encrypting algorithm of the military standard – AES-256. At the same time, the user doesn’t have to fully understand the cryptographic laws. All he needs is to indicate relevant item by check mark in the preferences menu and set the password that consists of letters, numbers and symbols.
The advanced technology of several GPU cores usage allows to achieve unbelievable files compression speed. Besides that, if you are short of disk space, you can launch the process of recompression of the same data fragments. eMMC cards as the main computer drive may serve as an example of such necessity. They have relatively small memory volume than regular HDD.
According to the information provided by the developers, Bandizip is capable of creating archives of the following formats: ZIP, 7Z, TAR, GZ and ISO (and that’s not all of them) even if the initial and final data size exceeds 4 gigabytes. User can add files into archive using the drag-and-drop function by simply dragging them to the Bandizip’s workspace.
There are not many elements in the archiver’s interface. The main options that are placed in the main window are Archive Creation and Content Preview. Additionally, the program includes such functions as Extract, Create Archive and Create Catalogue in the Windows context menu. Also, Bandizip’s options allow changing color scheme of the interface in order to adapt its design to any style of the operating system.
The archiver works correctly and without any serious delays. Compression of large text documents doesn’t take too long. In general, we can recommend the program to most of the people for regular use.
