Virtual drive and optical disc authoring program for Microsoft Windows and macOS

DAEMON Tools is one of the best programs that allows you to create disk images for later use in the same program or another drive emulator. Virtual disks can be used for backup, increased data transfer speeds, and reduced physical wear and tear on storage media and playback devices. Depending on the edition of the program, it also allows you to create and convert images of protected discs, burn optical discs, create RAM discs, etc.

DAEMON Tools supports copy protection SafeDisc (C-Dilla), SecuROM, Laserlock, CDCOPS, StarForce, Protect CD and many others. The SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD) layer is used for emulation. The software allows you to create up to 256 virtual drives, 32 virtual SCSI drives and four virtual IDE drives that can be used to mount disk images.

There are versions of DAEMON Tools for PCs with Windows and macOS operating systems. Below are links to pages where you will find information and links to installer files for each of these platforms.

DAEMON Tools is a great all-in-one software (and a little more) for working with disk images. But only for those who are ready to pay for it. The free version of the product has quite limited functionality, so those who lack its capabilities should look for an alternative.
