FileZilla Server

FileZilla Server is a free version of a FTP server that works under the GNU GPL license. The program is quite popular in the software market due to its simple options, no ads and no subscription fees.

FileZilla Server is based on the feature that allows to turn both PC and specialized dedicated server into a file storage. Also, the program allows you to define data access procedure, create and manage user groups and user rights, control the transfer speed and securely connect to own resources in the local and external networks. Besides that, FileZilla can resume files downloading that interrupted for some reason.

TLS tools, password of the administrative interface and IP addresses filtering help to protect the server and its content from hackers. Additionally, the program has an option to automatically ban network addresses after a certain number of failed login attempts. The events that are related to the server’s functioning are recorded to the log file. It allows to see the message history in order to find performance errors.

The interface of FileZilla Server looks quite simple. The working area is divided into two parts – the events log and the list of active connections. The quick access buttons are located in the toolbar. They include the following functions: server lockup, create a user, create a group; sort connections by IP address, UserID or username.

  • Supports modern operating systems of the Microsoft Windows family (х86 and х64).
  • Free and open distribution of the program.
  • Supports FTP, FTP over SSL/TLS (FTPS) and SFTP protocols.
  • Supports IPv6 protocol.
  • Supports files more than 4 gigabytes in size.
  • Supports SOCKS5, HTTP/1.1 and FTP-Proxy.
