MediaPortal 1 is a program designed to turn a user's computer into a full-fledged media center. The product is distributed free of charge and open source.
The MediaPortal 1 tool allows you to play audio and video files, view images both on the built-in and on an external monitor, control television channels, and also launch games such as Tetris and Sudoku, implemented as plugins. The program supports working with input devices such as remote controls, joysticks and keyboards with built-in speakers and media keys. Additionally, the product includes extended support for subtitles, the LastFM scrobbler, and the ability to search for information on Wikipedia.org.
The interface of MediaPortal 1 is of the highest quality, however, in turn, it uses a lot of GPU resources. Three full-fledged design themes are available for the user's choice. The media center is controlled both with the mouse and by means of the keyboard or remote control.
The MediaPortal 1 tool includes an impressive number of codecs, including H.264, AAC, MPEG / MPEG-2, AC3, and others required for reading Blu-ray discs.
