XAMPP is a cross-platform free Apache distribution with additional tools (MySQL, PHP and Perl). The tool is used as a web server, which will become an indispensable assistant in the creation and maintenance of websites.
With this tool, a developer can test dynamic web pages without access to the Internet. In addition to the basic tasks of installing Apache, PHP and MySQL, XAMPP can install other tools: PHPmyAdmin, OpenSSL, Webalizer.
You must manually start the required services because they are stopped by default. You can launch and simultaneously manage those that you need at the moment. However, in the service settings, you can choose to have the XAMPP control panel run as a service, automatically activating certain modules during startup.
